Time to swipe out the old and welcome the new in your life

Time to swipe out the old and welcome the new in your life

The end of the year is the time to ruminate about the past year and your life. Your losses and successes but also your desires that are still bubbling in your energy field.

People have many different ways of saying goodbye to the old, in the pagan traditions the end of the year is Samhain which is on the 31. October where we say goodbye to the old symbolic with a fire.

The Winter Solstice on the 21. to the 22. December marks the birth of the sun. 21. December which is the longest night of the year. This is the time to recapitulate the year, what changes did occur that you desired and formed into reality but also the undesired things, that you no longer want to live in the next year.

I want to talk with you a bit about a Germanic Tradition where you call these specific nights the “Rauhnächte”. These 12 nights in december are very powerful and because of the specific energy that is existing around this time, you can use them to form your reality for the next year even more easier. There are different philosophies about when the time of these nights start and also the end. What I found out, is that it ends at the 6. January which is the day of the Three Kings, the play a big role in the catholic and evangelic church as the wise man, who found Jesus Christ with the help of the Star of Betlehem.

As I said earlier, the night of 21. December to the 22. December is defenitely an important time to recapitulate about your year and your whole life. Think about what you want next year and in your future, and with that I not only mean, I want a new car or a house and other materialistic stuff, but also your desires in your relationships or your job or health or whatever there is that needs to be healed in your life.

What is it what you really want, how do you want your relationship to your partner, is there anything that your heart desires, more caress or open heart conversations?

Or in your job, how is it with the respect amongst your collegeagues, how is your relationship to your boss and how are you functioning in the whole picture, are you satisfied with the role you play?

Think about the role that you play in your life, are you happy with how people meet you? In a superficial way but also in depth, in your personal relationships. Is there anything, any pattern you don’t want to drag along into the new year, something that you are grown out now.

Whatever your backpack is and whatever is packed in there, now is the time to let go. Have no fear, because better will come. In order to let new into your life it is important to give space and to let go of old fears that no longer serve you.

It is important that you realise, that only you can make these decisions and the changes that follow. No one can speak into your desicions or even make them. It is absolutely up to you to make the changes, because only you know how you are ticking.

The Rituals of the “Rauhnächte”

Now that you were recapitulating about all, you can make a ritual to manifest it even stronger. Some people need rituals some work with their imagination and it will manifest the same way. As time change the energy changes too and rituals are no longer needed.

For those of you who prefer doing a ritual I can recommend the following:

Have 13 beautiful Candles ready, and buy following herbs. If you can’t get all don’t worry as I said before, it is the thought that counts.

Herbal mixture for your smoke out ritual for the comming days:

Laurel, Thyme, Lavender, Frankincense, Sage, Juniper, Camphor, Mugwort, the Resin of the Dragon Tree or Resin of Spruce Wood

This is certainly not a lapidary inscription and new ideas are very welcome in the comments below! I have seen different lists of herbs which tend to be endless. Let your intuition flow and choose what you prefer.

Write down all the things that you desire and also the ones that you want to let go onto a beautiful sheet of paper or if you find some in the nature collect 13 laurel leafs.

Definitely, your desires don’t have space on your laurel leafs, so just think about the whole wish and place an important word onto the leaf. This energy will be transfered to the leaf in any case.

You can then meditate over your desires. Choose 13 candles and form them into a circle for your meditation. Meditate and listen on what your soul guide wants to tell you.

Take care of your dreams during that time as they can tell you a lot about your future. To work with them I recommend a Dream Diary.

If you are reading this article a bit later, doesn’t matter it is the thought that counts and your energy that you put into your desires of change.

Read more about the following days to come in my next Article about the 24. December to the 25. December.
